Who We Are

WE ARE THE FIRST AND ONLY
YOGA & PILATES STUDIO IN SARNIA

The Perfect Combination

Yoga is a full body experience. You’re working the legs, glutes, arms, and core.  Everything is engaged. Yoga has the added element of mindfulness. This allows us to slow and calm the mind and teaches us to tune into our breath.

Pilates works from the center of the body outward. It increases your body awareness, strengthens your core and improves posture.

Yoga and Pilates both have their merits and the best part is that you don’t have to choose!

At Northern Star Yoga & Pilates you can combine the two for an amazing way to transform your body and daily routine.

YOGA

Our yoga classes are perfect for those looking to improve both health and skill related physical fitness components.   As we flow through our practice we will build strength, flexibility, and balance. We value teaching with kindness and respect and provide a safe space for community and practice.  At Northern Star Yoga & Pilates, we will work to enhance your total body health by incorporating aspects of physical, emotional and spiritual well being. Join us on the mat and take advantage of the variety of classes we have to offer.

PILATES

Pilates is unique in that, unlike yoga and other activities, it’s origin is relatively recent.  Pilates was created in 1920 by Joseph Pilates for physical rehabilitation. The idea behind Pilates is to gain flexibility, strength and body awareness without building bulk.  Pilates has a full mat routine, in addition to exercises that can only be performed on certain Pilates machines. The main goal of Pilates is to strengthen the abdominals, improve posture, stabilize and elongate the spine and develop balance and overall strength.  There are six key principles in Pilates: breathing, centering, concentration, control, precision and flow. You will create a leaner better you from your core muscles out. Pilates will give you that long, toned body you desire.

APPAREL

I fell in love with Liquido leggings six years ago when I discovered them on Instagram. As a yoga instructor I was always searching for the perfect yoga pant!  I was instantly attracted to the beautiful, but different patterns.

It's the feel of the leggings you fall in love with but it's the exceptional quality and unique designs that sets them apart from other brands.

I love Oraki- More than just a brand!  Not only are they made in Canada,  but they are the only Canadian brand that makes it's clothing from plastic water bottles!  Each legging contains 10-12 bottles.  I love Oraki's unique designs and lightweight material.  They also have a super high waistband that stays in place when practicing yoga.

Beyond Yoga is an incredible chic brand from L.A.  They are a luxury athleisure brand designed to transition from workout to night out.  They use the most incredibly soft fabrics when designing their merchandise that will not disappoint!
